Turns out the remote died. I went back to Auto Trim Design yesterday morning and they gave me a new remote. Works great now! Apparently mine was the second dead remote they’d seen in two years dealing with this model.
Whatever the failure rate, I’m happy now! Of course, it’s a lot warmer now, but the auto-start is still nice.
Sad news: My brand new auto-start remote died yesterday. It broke into (very loud) song as we returned from breakfast, and then just shut off. I haven’t been able to make it work since, even after trying 3 different batteries, one of which came from a brand new pack I bought at the store yesterday. I’m going to swing by Auto Trim Design to see if they can fix it this morning.
In other news, Fairbanks was hit by a heat wave this morning, with temperatures rising up into the teens – negative teens, that is. After two weeks of -40 and colder, this is a welcome reprieve!
I bought a new car Friday! Yay! It’s a “magnetic gray metallic” 2009 Toyota Camry, like this pic:

I’m getting the auto-start installed tomorrow, also going to look into the possibility of some heated seats. Needs Blizzaks, too, see about getting those this week.
Is totally awesome car, though! An upgrade in every measure over my 2006 Toyota Corolla that Nini totaled. Glad she did, though – this car rocks!
Update: Oops, pic’s gone, maybe I’ll get around to getting a new one up some day.
Happy New Year everyone! And welcome to the re-launch of SD41.net!
My New Year’s resolution is to keep up with this blog. The site design is still a work-in-progress, but I wanted to have something up to ring in the new year with. I’ll be doing a lot of work on the blog section, adding some navigation, a calendar of posts, tags and a tag cloud, and even RSS feeds.
After that, who knows? The sky’s the limit!
